Free Range Studios is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to manage web design and development projects, as well as the occasional print design project. The PM is responsible for managing and overseeing the project team made up of designers, strategists, and technologists, maintaining an overall high standard of quality, and offering superior customer service. An ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter with superior oral and written communications skills and has experience with issue- or cause-based communications. A great sense of humor is a plus, as is a passion for social change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep projects running on time and on budget (with the help of PM software)
- Manage projects throughout the full engagement cycle, including kickoff, discovery, creative development and implementation
- Maintain good working relationship with clients during an engagement and after
- Participate in project planning and research
- Keep tabs on ongoing and evolving client needs and market trends
- Schedule and lead weekly project meetings, both internal and external
- Attend pitch meetings with potential new clients
- Other tasks may include coordinating travel and event logistics, contributing to studio administration, proposal writing and/or presentations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Skilled at multi-tasking and juggling competing priorities
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Track record of offering superior customer service
- Ability to compose and coordinate budgets, work plans and schedules
- Two years of professional experience (creative industry experience a plus)
- Non-profit experience and/or demonstrated passion for progressive causes
- Strong knowledge of web tools as well as social networking tools and strategies
- Experience managing projects using online management systems
- Ability to give constructive critical feedback to colleagues and technology partners
- Willingness to jump into a fast-paced studio environment while learning and applying new skills quickly
- Familiarity in all phases of the design life cycle (strategy, conceptualization, development, budgeting, scheduling, creating proposals, obtaining client approvals, resources management, status reporting, deadline tracking and enforcement, execution, and close-out)
- Expertise in using MS Office software and Internet research tools are a must
- Knowledge of current web and social media technologies, HTML/CSS, open source content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle, Basecamp, Workamajig or other project management tools desirable
