All over the Bay area, cities had been trying desperately to ban plastic bags. Of course, the Bag has friends in high places and the bans had stalled. Until Save the Bay, the most ardent defender of this ecologically sensitive region, decided to get into the fight with Free Range by their side. We sold our client on a story — the story of a woman who finds herself overwhelmed by a tidal wave of bags. The surreal, unforgettable imagery quickly caught the public’s attention as well as the eye of ABC news and the editors at YouTube who featured it nationally on their front page. More than half a million viewers later, the piece was credited as a major momentum builder for several successful bag bans in the Bay Area.
