Overview
Healthy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF) aims to measurably reduce the largest sources of babies' exposures to toxic chemicals that harm brain development. After successfully working with Free Range to design a new brand and website, HBBF reached out to us for help creating an infographic on the impact of air pollution and climate on neurological health.
HBBF needed an infographic that would visually communicate the findings of their research, which explores the connection between climate issues and babies’ neurological health. The infographic would have to highlight the ways in which climate change can impact babies’ brains, as well as the steps that can be taken to protect babies from these risks.
Working together, we determined which key points would need to be covered in the infographic. Then we began work on a standout design.
Data in hand, we started exploring different illustrations and infographics styles. We eventually landed on custom, hand-drawn illustrations with fine lines and watercolor accents.
The final infographic guides the viewer through the different aspects of the problem, reaching into different actions they can take to improve climate and babies’ health simultaneously.
The infographic was published online to positive feedback. HBBF continues to use it as a resource for training and in-person events.
